Day 1 – Saturday 28 July 2018 (B, D) Depart Brisbane 11:00AM– Arrive Norfolk 2:15PM /Wonderland by Night
On arrival you need to collect your checked luggage and clear customs and immigration. Once in the main terminal you will be met by our local ground operator – Pinetree Tours – and they will transfer you to your hotel where accommodation has been confirmed for the next 7 nights. Governor’s Lodge Resort Hotel is a hotel consisting of fifty-five individual one-bedroom fully serviced lodges. Located amongst twelve acres of wonderfully landscaped sub-tropical gardens featuring majestic Norfolk Pines, various varieties of bananas, colourful hibiscus, and a host of flowers and scrubs, the village setting provides tranquillity and privacy to every guest. Tonight’s welcome dinner will be a 2-course dinner at your hotel. Built in the early 1900′s the Bailey’s homestead has been beautifully restored, its timber lined colonial style interior perfect for a delightful candlelit dining experience. The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines and bushland lit up like an enchanted forest. Meander along (or ride in the 'moon buggy') a gentle winding path whilst a descendant of one of the Bounty mutineers recites poetry written by local poet Archie Bigg. The dioramas are lit up and the setting is magical. Afterwards enjoy a light supper.
Day 2 – Sunday 29 July 2018 (B, D) Half Day Orientation Tour/Murder Mystery Dinner
The morning is at leisure and lunch today is own arrangements. Pinetree Tours Half Day Orientation Tour is a must for every visitor. Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches and golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel, local Government laws and lifestyle. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour. Morning tea is included. Lunch today is own arrangements and the rest of the day is at leisure. Tonight enjoy a 3-course meal fit for the Commandants whilst the mystery unfolds. Meet the Commandant, Clergymen and convicts of this period. True characters from the Second Settlement. Day 3 – Monday 30 July 2018 (B, D) Christian Brothers Cheese Tour /’A Little Bit Country’
Christian Brothers Cheese Company is a boutique dairy and cheese producer started by two island brothers Glen and John Christian. The two over two hours will take you through a local farm with beautiful ocean views where you’ll meet the milk cows, try the milking machine, see beehives and hear about producing the local honey. A quick visit to the local sawmill is an added bonus. The tour travels to Glen’s house where you sample the range of cheeses with tasty condiments and complementary wine. Enjoy the scenic ocean and valley views from the verandah whilst cheesemaker John gives you an informative talk. Lunch today is own arrangements and the afternoon is at leisure.
Tonight, after dinner at one of Norfolk’s hotels, your host performs alongside of Rodney Vincent, Graeme Hugo and Lucky Starr. You’re all familiar with Fortunato and his beautiful vocals. You’ll also enjoy Graeme who is one of South Australia’s most hardworking independent artists. He has a great rapport with audiences of all ages and is a real crowd pleaser. Rodney hails from Victoria where he’s extremely popular on the club circuit. His show always promises lots of laughs and great music. Lucky is a great musician and is well known in the music industry so a fabulous night’s entertainment is assured.
Day 4 – Tuesday 31 July 2018 (B, D) Glass Bottom Boat Tour/Island Fish Fry/Sound and Light Show
View beautiful coral gardens and tropical fish inside the calm crystal waters of Norfolk’s lagoon. Your guides provide full and interesting commentary on the environment tour. Tour time will depend on tides. The rest of the day is at leisure and lunch is own arrangements. Enjoy a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread & fresh fried fish, followed by Island desserts & tea or coffee. Enjoy some local entertainment, on our exclusive private property ‘Orn Daa Cliff’ on Norfolk’s western coastline. After the fish fry nightfall at Kingston brings a different mood to the Convict Settlement. The stillness and the stars are there just as they were before settlers arrived in 1788. With the dramatic use of real life sounds, theatrical lighting and costumed actors, the stillness is broken as Pinetree Tours takes you through the horrifying decades of Norfolk Island’s convict era.
Day 5 – Wednesday 01 August 2018 (B, D) Breakfast Bush Walk/Progressive Dinner
This morning take your choice of a stroll through One Hundred Acres Reserve or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates to Captain Cook Monument. If you prefer not to rise early and bush walk you’ll be picked up a little later and taken to join the walkers at Anson Bay as they return from their walk and where you’ll all enjoy a delicious breakfast barbecue on the clifftop. The rest of the day is at leisure and lunch is own arrangements. Tonight enjoy a 3-course meal progressing to different Norfolk Island family homes. A fun night and a great way to meet the local people and sample some of the Island dishes.
Day 6 – Thursday 02 August 2018 (B, D) Behind the Hedges / ‘A Little Bit of Country – A Bit of Shindig’
Travel to Anson Bay to visit a small hobby farm, which has been instrumental in improving the local livestock industry. Close by see a demonstration at Norfolk’s major pottery and browse at the cottage pottery shop. After a delicious morning tea at a scenic location, walk through one of Norfolk's largest Banyan Trees. Exclusive to Pinetree Tours - visit Sweeties and learn how chocolate is made on Norfolk Island. Tonight enjoy a second show from your hosts for the week – Graeme, Fortunato, Lucky and Rodney. Firstly dinner at one of Norfolk’s great hotels and then the show will follow.
Day 7 – Friday 03 August 2018 (B, D) 4WD Tour/Farewell Dinner at Bailey’s Restaurant
You’ll love this exciting 3-hour tour to parts of Norfolk only accessible by 4WD. Climb aboard the 18-seater 4 x 4 bus for a state of the art Norfolk experience. Enjoy air-conditioned comfort and safety as you enjoy authentic insights into Norfolk’s unexplored valleys, ridges, coastlines and private properties. Don’t expect a rough race through the scrub. Drivers are conscientious and very knowledgeable. Morning tea is included and don’t forget your camera. Tonight is a 2-course farewell dinner at your hotel.
Day 8 – Saturday 04 August 2018 (B) Depart Norfolk 1:55PM – Arrive Brisbane 5:10PM
Standard checkout time applies. Pinetree Tours will collect you and transfer you to Norfolk Airport in time for your departure flight.
