Day 1 Wednesday 24 January 2018  Depart Sunshine Coast - Arrive Brisbane

Mystic Mountain Tours will contact you with your pick up time.  Transfer to Brisbane to the newest Brisbane Airport Hotel located at the domestic terminal.  Dinner is at your own cost.

Accommodation:   Ibis Airport Hotel (1 night) 

Day 2 Thursday 25 January 2018 (B, A, D) Depart Brisbane - Arrive Hobart/CWA Shop/Dinner at hotel                                   

This morning enjoy a cooked Breakfast at your hotel restaurant.

The hotel porter service will assist you with your luggage to the Virgin Australia Terminal.  You will need to be at the terminal 60 minutes prior to your flight departure.

On arrival at the Hobart Airport be greeted by your Tasmanian Coach Captain and welcomed aboard the luxury 5-star touring coach. Travel to nearby Rosny Lookout for panoramic views of Hobart against the majestic backdrop of the Wellington Range. Cross the Tasman Bridge to Hobart City and tour historic Battery Point, Salamanca Place and the vibrant waterfront. Enjoy afternoon tea at the unique CWA Shop before settling into accommodation for the next five nights.  Dinner tonight is at your hotel.

Day 3 Friday 26 January 2018 (B, D) Port Arthur/Norfolk and Frederick Henry Bays/Winery/Dinner at Yacht Club              

Travel via Sorell Causeway and Midway Point for our full day tour to Tasman Peninsula. Take in magnificent views from the look-out above picturesque Eaglehawk Neck and Pirates Bay before continuing to the Port Arthur Convict Settlement. Within the 40 hectares of landscaped grounds lies a rich history of Australia’s convict past. Included in the entry is a guided walking tour, a short Harbour Cruise, access to the Visitor Centre and Interpretation Gallery as well as more than 30 buildings, ruins and restored gardens and houses; explore as you wish before departing the historic site to visit the geological features of the Devils Kitchen and Tasman Arch. Tour beside Norfolk and Frederick Henry Bays back to Hobart and sample some of Tasmania’s famous wines along the way. This evening enjoy dinner at the Royal Hobart Yacht Club. 

Day 4 Saturday 27 January 2018 (B) Salamanca Markets/At leisure/Dinner own arrangements                                  

As it is Saturday morning, take the opportunity to explore the famous Salamanca open-air Market with its bustle and buskers, colour and excitement. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to relax or explore as you wish. There are many options on offer (own expense) delve into history at the Mawson's Hut Replica Museum and find out what was on their menu or spend time in the shopping precinct. Or should not go to the Market you may like to take a day trip to unique Bruny Island & sample the delicious food & wine on offer or experience the thrilling boat ride around Bruny Island to see the wild life and spectacular scenery.  This evening, dinner will be own arrangements. There are 5 restaurants to choose from at the hotel.   

Day 5 Sunday 28 January 2018 (B, D) Salmon Ponds/Russell Falls/Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary/Dinner at hotel

Travel through the delightful Derwent Valley to New Norfolk and Mt Field National Park which is one of Tasmania's most loved national parks. An easy 10-minute stroll will take us to the iconic Russell Falls, the track is edged with graceful ferns and giant eucalypts tower overhead. Next we travel to Plenty Salmon Ponds. Circa 1861, this is the oldest trout hatchery in the Southern Hemisphere. It was the birthplace of trout in Australia and the origin of Tasmania’s legendary trout fishery. Enjoy the original 19th century English style public open space of superb trees, hedges and lawns before visiting Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Bonorong focus on returning injured native animals back to the wild and you will taken on a personalised tour of some of their favourite species. Return to our accommodation to freshen up before dinner. 

Day 6 Monday 29 January 2018 (B, D) Huon Valley/Tahune Forest Airwalk/Dinner at a local restaurant

Tour the apple orchards and fruit growing regions of the Huon Valley, through Huonville, Franklin, and Geeveston to Tasmania’s southern eucalypt and Huon pine forests. Along the way visit the Wooden Boat Centre and learn about Tasmania's long history in building wooden boats.  A major attraction has been established in the Tahune State Forest at the junction of the Picton and Huon Rivers. Explore the Visitor Centre and take a unique view of the environment during the 570-metre-long walk between the magnificent canopies of the Tahune Forest high in the tree tops at Tahune Forest Airwalk. Visit the Forest & Heritage Centre at Geeveston and return to Hobart.  Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant. 

Day 7 Tuesday 30 January 2018 (B, M) Hill Street Grocer/Botanical Gardens/Succulent Café/Depart Hobart

This morning we call into the Hill Street Grocer to visit an iconic fresh food outlet then enjoy some quiet moments in Hobart’s Royal Botanical Gardens, vibrant with spring colours and blooms. Enjoy morning tea at the Succulent Café before crossing the Derwent to the historic village of Richmond. Walk across Australia’s oldest bridge, built by convict labour between 1823 and 1825. Visit in the cemetery of Australia’s oldest remaining Catholic Church, St Johns, built in 1836. Or browse through the many delightful craft shops, galleries and food stores. We head to the airport for our flight to Brisbane.  Mystic Mountain Tours will meet you at Brisbane airport for your door to door drop off home.
